Therapeutic Riding and Equine Assisted Learning

Therapeutic Riding promotes physical health, emotional growth, social interaction and educational improvement.
A unique method of learning, EAL provides a number of benefits, including building self-esteem and confidence, honing team-building and leadership skills, and helping veterans reintegrate after their service.
Veterans Programs
Project Name
Active military personnel, veterans and their families are able to participate in Therapeutic Horseback Riding and EAL sessions by appointment. These sessions utilize the SpiritHorse International curriculum through an O.K. Corral Series approach.
In addition, Freedom Ranch hosts four events for Veterans each year, including Veteran's Appreciation Day.

Summer Camp
Project Name
Freedom Ranch hosts its Summer Camp for children of all ages and abilities during the months of May and June.
​
Children participate in team-building exercises, learn horse care and complete sensory-stimulating arts and crafts. In addition, campers can take part in plenty of outdoor activities, including fishing, canoeing, swimming, yard games, hiking, hay rides and more.

Special Olympics
Project Name
SpiritHorse at Freedom Ranch hosts and provides training sessions for the Annual Area 1 Equestrian Special Olympics Horse Show.
Nearly 50 participants of all ages train and compete for the event, which attracts individuals from Georgia and Tennessee.
