SpiritHorse has a New Home!
SpiritHorse program has purchased their own facility, Freedom Ranch, located just 5 minutes from the Tunnel Hill-Varnell exit off I-75. There is 61+ acres of beautiful pastures and woods creating a charming and peaceful setting for Equine and other Therapies.
SpiritHorse acknowledges the power of the horse to help in changing lives; therefore seeking to change and enrich lives by promoting excellence in equine-assisted activities. Freedom Ranch is a licensed SpiritHorse Therapeutic Riding facility and has SpiritHorse Certified Equine-Assisted Healthcare Instructors, as well as O.K. Corral Certified Equine Assisted Learning Therapists.
SpiritHorse philosophy is “To Assist Each Individual in Reaching Their Full Potential through Interaction with Horses". SpiritHorse provides programming for a diverse population including individuals with special needs, emotional/behavior issues, youth at risk and our veterans.
SpiritHorse therapeutic riding is a year round, all-abilities program serving individuals of all ages. The motto for the special needs program is “First Words, First Steps”!
Each Fall SpiritHorse hosts the Special Olympic Training for 8 weeks and the Area I Special Olympic Horseshow which has served riders in Catoosa, Walker, Hamilton, Dade, Marion, Bradley, Whitfield and Gordon counties.
SpiritHorse offers three weeks of an all abilities, ages 6 years+, Summer Day Camp with horse care, horseback riding, trail riding, cart driving, arts/crafts, hiking, team building games, swimming, fishing, paddling and other outdoor games & education.
SpiritHorses for Veterans is a special program Freedom Ranch offers for veterans, national guard and enlisted men/women. There is an annual Veteran Appreciation Day and an annual Veteran Children’s Day at the ranch. Starting Fall of 2017, we will be offering Veteran Weekend Restoration Retreats.
SpiritHorse hosts numerous school, camp and church field trips. It is also a fun-filled opportunity for birthday parties and a beautiful picturesque Wedding venue!
SpiritHorse at Freedom Ranch is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization which operates primarily with volunteers, depending on donations/other charitable funding.
